Employee’s Claim Leads to Financial Gain for Coworkers
Client Brian came to our office because his employer did not pay him overtime. Brian worked in a supervisory position with a national security guard firm. Brian’s employer claimed that it did not need to pay Brian one and one-half his regular rate of pay because he was a manager, exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
After investigating the situation, our attorneys found that the employer owed Brian overtime pay for a three-year period.
Our attorneys filed a lawsuit against the company on a collective action basis on behalf of not only Brian, but on behalf of all other employees affected by the company’s illegal pay practice. Although the company fought tooth and nail every step of the way, the court ordered that our office could send all the employees in the company with similar positions to Brian a notice letting them know of their right to join the case.
After receiving notice in the mail of their right to join, multiple other employees joined Brian’s case. The office was able to force the company to give it the time and pay records for all the employees who joined Brian’s case. After investigating their claims, the attorneys were able to negotiate a settlement for the collective action, where each employee received 100% of their back wages and an additional 40% of their back wages in liquidated damages. That means they received more than they were even owed if the company would have paid the employees correctly in the first place.
Our attorneys were able to get all the employees this amazing settlement at no cost to any of them!
Brian was incredibly grateful to our attorneys. The money that he received from the settlement helped him get his financial life back on track.

I was a weepy mess when I first met with Mr. Yaldou, feeling quite overwhelmed, helpless and embarrassed at the thought of having to file for bankruptcy.
"Mr. Yaldou was comforting and reassuring, taking me under his wing much like a "big brother". He, Nick Chambers, Lisa Segur, and his entire legal staff, were never too busy to answer my questions and respond to my emails throughout the entire (successful) bankruptcy process. Everyone was absolutely wonderful!!! If you're looking for a knowledgeable, top-notch legal team, then I highly recommend Yaldou Law."
"Did great job on my case was very helpful and knowledgeable he knew what he was doing call back at two maybe three times and still very helpful after the case was finished."
Bryan is an excellent attorney!
"He has an extremely, professional, knowledgable manner and yet is kind and understanding. He puts you immediately at ease and you feel free to talk to him about all the deepest and most embarrassing things without feeling like he is judging you, in fact that he understands and empathizes with you. He is very through and explains every step of the process and what to expect - both good and possible bad which I really liked because I don't like a rosy picture painted for me when a potentially bad situation might arise. I would highly recommend him...in fact - do yourself a favor and just go straight to him and forget shopping around as you won't find a better champion than Bryan! By the way, I had never met Bryan, just saw his sign and decided to stop - the best decision I ever made!"
Bryan is so friendly and always available to answer any questions you may have.
"My case was handled efficiently and with ease. I appreciated always being informed and knowing what the next step would be. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone in search of a quality attorney."
